University of Florence (UNIFI) is an important center for research and higher education in Italy. It offers a wide range of study programs at various levels and in all areas of knowledge: 126 Degree Courses organized in 10 Schools, with a community of about 50,000 students, 1.800 professors and researchers, 1.600 administrative and technicians, as well as about 1.600 doctoral/PhD candidates. Over 9,000 degrees are awarded each year. The percentage of students who are in the workforce one year after their First Level/Bachelor Degree is above national average.
UNIFI has a natural international vocation and the development of internationalization is one of its strategic priorities. Researchers at the University of Florence operate within 24 different departments and have at disposal approximately 40 research structures comprising inter-departmental and inter-university centers as well as specialized research, knowledge transfer and advanced training centers.
The areas of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Applied Geology represent the main areas of research, teaching and technology transfer, carried out by Florence University.
